ZAKAT AL-FITR and HOW MUCH GIVEN!

WHAT IS ZAKAT AL FITR? Zakat Al Fitr is a donation to charity given on the last day of Ramadan or before the Eid-El Fitr Prayers. All Muslims are obliged to give to the poor at Eid al-Fitr, young and old, male and female. They must also give to the poor before the Eid prayer, Salat which is said together in a Mosque before the Eid celebrations. Muslims can give Zakat, which is help from the rich to the poor, one or two days before the Eid prayer, but not after. Zakat al-Fitr should be given in the form of food as the prophet did. The amount of Zakat is the same for everyone regardless of how wealthy they are. Every adult Muslim who possesses food in excess of his needs and those of their family must pay Zakat al-Fitr. About 2kg of flour, wheat, barley or rice from each person in a household is the minimum amount of Zakat that can ...

False Accusation/Suspicion

False Accusation/Suspicion False accusation is worse than backbiting. It is to falsely attribute a deficiency or an offence to a believing person. It is certain that this transgression is the most wicked of attacks upon the prestige of a believer. Allah the Most High said:  “And whoever commits a fault or a sin, then accuses of it one innocent, he indeed takes upon himself the burden of a calumny and a manifest sin.” He also said:  “Surely (as for) those who speak evil of Allah and His Apostle, Allah has cursed them in this world and the hereafter, and He has prepared for them a chastisement bringing disgrace.” The Holy Prophet Muhammad (S) said:  “Backbiting is speaking about your brother what he does not like to be mentioned.”  And he added:  “Know that if you mention what is actually in him, this is backbiting; and if you mention what is not actually in him, this is a false accusation.” Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (a.s.) said:  “Backbiting is sayin...

ARABIC LANGUAGE IN ISLAM

Ninety percent of the world's Muslims do not speak Arabic as their native language. Yet in daily prayers, when reading the  Qur'an , or even in simple conversations with each other, Arabic rolls off any Muslim's tongue readily. It may be broken or heavily accented, but most Muslims make the attempt to speak and understand at least some Arabic. Regardless of their linguistic, cultural, and racial differences, Muslims form one community of believers. This community is based on their shared faith in One Almighty God, and the guidance He has sent down to mankind. His final revelation to mankind, the Qur'an, was sent over 1400 years ago in the  Arabic language . Arabic thus serves as a common language among this diverse community of believers. The original Arabic text of the Qur'an has been preserved from the time of its revelation. Translations have been done into various languages, but they all refer back to the original Arabic. In order to fully unders...
